Chris Knickerbocker calls her creations “reincarnated art and décor” because each piece had a past life as something else and now has a new story to tell. Her business name is “Old Souls Home” which she envisioned as a “retirement home for misfits”-her assemblages of what some would define as disparate pieces of found objects put together to make you laugh, cry or sigh. |

She initially focused on using vintage doll pieces to create new characters but has focused more on making mixed media assemblage that is interactive with audience- from as simple as guessing the intended pun or by engaging a crank to make the piece “move.” Both home and business have purchased larger scale custom installations. Featured business installations include the Belva Lockwood Inn (the Knickerbocker Room, and their bar) and the Owego Kitchen.
